Discover South African Wine Festival April
Having visited South Africa nearly ten times and helped at two vintages in Paarl and Stellenbosch, I always think South African wine is underrated especially in this part of the world.
So Iparticularly excited that Wines of South Africa (WOSA) has decided to run an annual, month-long, market wide campaign in Hong Kong each April, following the success of the ‘Celebrating South Africas 20 years of democracy tasting last year.

South Africa's wine industry has evolved over the past two decades. Investment in vineyards and wineries and the overseas experience of young winemakers combined with the country's 350 years of winemaking history and diversity of climate and geography have led to significant improvements in wine quality. Chenin Blanc is no longer the mediocre off-dry wine of old but instead ranges from light and refreshing to serious with ageing potential. While Stellenbosch is still the centre of excellence, renowned for its classic Bordeaux styles, exciting new regions are offering the consumer more variety, such as Pinot Noir from cool climate Elgin, Rhone style wines from passionate Swartland, and award-winning Pinotage from breakaway Wellington

Let’s explore South African wine here in Hong Kong. See for yourself the diversity of the country’s wine.

South African flair at The Park Lane
The Park Lane partners with WOSA

Luc Bollen, Regional Director and General Manager of The Park Lane, is a firm believer in South African gastronomy. He also believes the similarities in the characteristics of South African wine and the Pullman brand lend themselves to a perfect synergy. He said, "South African wine has over 350 years of history yet it is also viewed as New World because of its vibrant and dynamic image. Likewise Pullman, the parent group of The Park Lane, has an equally rich background that was reborn only seven years ago as a dynamic and contemporary brand. South African wines fit perfectly into the Pullman attitude of ‘Work Hard - Play Hard’."
